Cavs Coach Says Andrew Wiggins Won’t Be Traded

Since LeBron James’ mega announcement on Friday that he’s returning to the Cleveland Cavaliers, speculation has run rampant that overall No. 1 draft pick Andrew Wiggins would be traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves in a swap for Kevin Love. Saturday after practice at the Las Vegas Summer League, first year head coach David Blatt told assembled media that he didn’t expect that to actually go down:

“There’s no reason or cause for worry on his part because Andrew’s not going anywhere, as far as I know and as far as the club has expressed.”

Though James didn’t make mention of mentoring Wiggins in his essay in Sports Illustrated, it seems like Wiggins is still very much a part of OVOhio’s future.
