Chandler Parsons, forward for the Houston Rockets, appeared on ESPN’s SportsNation on Friday, because what else is there to do for after being knocked out in the first-round of the NBA playoffs? LeBron James was a topic of discussion during his apperance and Parsons had some shocking things to say about LeBron’s future. With the Miami Heat down 3-1 in the NBA Finals to the San Antonio Spurs, it appears James will be stripped of his opportunity to three-peat. James has an ETO (early termination option) in his contract that could make him a free agent this off season. Even though James has said he plans to return to Miami, nothing is ever definite until the ink is on the paper.
“I think if they would’ve won the championship it would’ve been a different story and they would’ve came back to do it again,” Parsons said, “but he’s got so much responsibility — he’s obviously one of the best players, if not the best player — so I think them losing will make him make a move and opt out, and you’ll see him in a different jersey next year.”
As the discussion continued, Parsons said that, “I just don’t think he’ll be back on the Heat. I think he’s done all he can do there and I think it’s time for him to move on.”
“I can’t see the Lakers,” he continued. “I honestly can’t. I could see him maybe going back to Cleveland. I could see that.”
Even if the Heat succumb to the Spurs in the Finals, a return to Cleveland for King James appears highly unlikely. Can anyone actually imagine LeBron going back to Cleveland? Apparently Chandler Parsons can.
