Knicks Pull off Baggage Dumping Trade with the Mavericks

How bad did the Dallas Mavericks want Tyson Chandler back? Bad enough to give up two starters and take on a lot of Knicks baggage. ESPN’s reporting that Dallas and New York have pulled the trigger on a trade that’ll send Chandler and point guard Raymond Felton to the Mavericks in exchange for point guard Jose Calderon and center Samuel Dalembert. The Knicks will also get second-year guard Shane Larkin, reserve guard Wayne Ellington and two picks (the 34th and 51st) picks in tomorrow’s draft, presumably opening up money to spend on Carmelo Anthony and overhaul their roster.

It’s the first major personnel move of the Phil Jackson era in New York.
