Stop the debating—LeBron James just defeated Michael Jordan at something.
King James ranked No. 1 over Jordan on America’s New Favorite Sports Star poll, according to Harris Polls. Last year, it was Jordan who owned the top spot on the poll and James who ranked second.
Although, only 2,241 adults were surveyed online for this poll, James received the top nod during the voting period of June 11th-June 16th, nearly a month before he probably won over plenty of new fans by deciding to go back home and player for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
After James at No. 1 and Jordan at No. 2, soon-to-be retired New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter, Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning, and Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant round out the top five spots on the poll. NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr., New England Patriots QB Tom Brady, Tiger Woods, New Orleans Saints’ Drew Brees, and Green Bay Packers star Aaron Rodgers complete the Top 10.
What does everyone on this poll have in common? They’re all winners, all champions. Some more than others.
Four more NBA championship rings to catch up with MJ, LeBron.
