Just two more days until the NBA Draft and there’s still so much uncertainty at at the very top. Because of Joel Embiid’s foot injury which could sideline him for up to six months, Las Vegas oddsmaker Bovada has installed Andrew Wiggins as the favorite to be selected first overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday.

That is, if the Cavaliers don’t trade their first overall pick before then. Some folks around the league believe the Cavs may actually prefer Jabari Parker, but he had a workout with the team on Friday that, according to reports, did not go very well. One source even went as far as to accuse Parker of “tanking” the workout.

This time of year, days before the draft, there’s a lot of draft chatter, very little of which that can be taken at face value. Who knows if Cleveland is leaking rumors in a move to trade the pick or if the top picks really are this volatile. The only person not hiding his cards has been Bucks owner Marc Lasry, who stated yesterday that he wants someone who can help his team from day one. That most certainly rules out Kansas big man Joel Embiid, who’s recuperating from foot surgery. It’s about to be a wild two days.
