Earlier this year, we told you about how outgoing Milwaukee Bucks owner Herb Kohl gave all of the team employees a check for $500 as a token of appreciation before he left the team. Well, it turns out, the generosity didn’t stop there.
According to a report, he not only mailed a $500 check to everyone who worked for the Bucks, he also gave them what has been deemed “significant financial gifts”. Based on several criterion, especially depending on the longevity of the employee, Kohl provided financial rewards of $40,000 up to $100,000 for certain workers of the team.
Some of the employees have even described these bonuses as “life changing.”
Keep in mind, Kohl was also adamant during the sale of the Bucks that any incoming owner(s) would be committed to keeping the team in Milwaukee. He has gone way above and beyond his call of duty to give back to both the city and those who helped serve the NBA franchise he owned for so many years.
Someone needs to put Kohl’s face on one of those “World’s Best Boss” cups. We do wonder, given how Kohl always preferred to run the team as an extension of the community in Milwaukee, how he feels about the new owners getting involved with the Jason Kidd fiasco.
