Carmelo Anthony’s free agent tour stopped in Houston today for a visit with the Rockets. As seems to be the trend nowadays, the Rockets plastered billboards of Melo in a Rockets uniform around the arena. One problem though, the billboards featured Melo in a No. 7 jersey — the number currently worn by Jeremy Lin.
Jeremy Lin wasn’t too happy with the gesture, even though Anthony is a former teammate of his from his Knicks days. Lin responded to the billboards via Twitter:
Luke 6:29 – If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also. If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them

As if this wasn’t enough for one day, it appears that the 76ers and Rockets are discussing a trade that would send Lin to Philadelphia. The Rockets want Carmelo but need to clear cap space to do that — Jeremy Lin is over a little over $8 million in the final year of his deal this upcoming season.
Hearing that Rockets & Sixers are in fluid trade talks surrounding Jeremy Lin. HOU waiting to unload Lin's deal if it signs Melo or Lebron.

Stay tuned, because Jeremy Lin’s days as a Houston Rocket could be numbered if the Rockets are serious about bringing Carmelo Anthony to town.
